How to use the paint calculator
- Measure room length, width and wall height. Enter doors and windows as wall openings, separately from ceiling exclusions.
- Select wall paint and/or ceiling paint. Enter each product’s coverage per coat, number of coats and chosen tin size.
- Add primer if required by your product or surface preparation instructions. It uses the selected surfaces with a separate coverage rate.
A worked example
Example: a 3.2 × 2.4 m room with 2.4 m walls has 26.88 m² of wall area before openings. Two coats at 10 m² per litre need 5.376 litres. With 4-litre tins, that rounds to 2 tins.
